Outrun the Bear went live on Kickstarter only two weeks ago– and since then, we’ve managed to fund, increase the card quality in the base version of the game, and unlock some improved art for each of the runner standees! Thank you so much for your continued support of the game.
A Potential In The Box Expansion
Our next stretch goal is one of my favorites! The Park Pass expansion. The goal of this expansion is to add to the strategic depth of Outrun the Bear by means of unique player powers. I’m still working on the graphic design for the park pass cards, and I aim to have them finished before we cross that 22k line. In the meantime, here is a preview of two of the abilities:
Passive: When another runner PASSES you, you may take a card from their hand.
Action: Discard a card move your runner to a space adjacent to the runner that is closest to you.
Now if adding depth to your games of Outrun the Bear isn’t your preferred way to play, you’ll be happy to know that the abilities portion of this expansion is completely optional. But you’ll still get the benefit of being able to use the “Park Passes” as a quick way to add a visual cue to the table of who holds which runner standee.
Learn to Play, Live!
As a special thank you to everyone who has backed the game so far, I’m planning to host some learn to play events via Tabletop Simulator and Tabletopia this weekend!
I’ll be setting up a sign-up sheet and sharing it in a Kickstarter update in the next couple of days, so if you’ve chosen to back the game, keep an eye out for that link!
Well that’s all for this update. We have just 16 days left to go and some more cool goals to unlock, so keep sharing Outrun the Bear with your friends and family!
Race you soon,
Game Designer, Outrun the Bear
