Hi Runners,
Outrun the Bear went live on Kickstarter just over a week ago and we managed to fund in about 55 hours! Right now we’ve even crossed our first stretch goal line. It really has been great seeing all of the support that this community has shown for this game!

If you’re familiar with how Kickstarter works, you know that Kickstarter’s algorithm recommends projects to you based on your interests— but how it picks those projects are based on the following 3 categories:
- Total funding
- Number of Backers
- Comments on the project
As time goes by, these values are reduced and newer projects take the scene. Projects may grow more slowly at this point. There are things that I’m working on to try and keep the momentum going, though!
If you’d like to help, here’s how:
- Please keep on sharing the projects with friends and family who you think will love it.
- If you have any questions that you need answered, ask them in the Kickstarter comments.
- Contact Youtubers who do shows like Dice Tower’s Crowd Surfing to see if they know about the project.
- Tell your local friendly gaming store that you’re excited for this project.
Even if this campaign ends right now, it’s fully funded, and that is an awesome win. I’m sure you are going to love your game.
It would be really cool to keep devouring some stretch goals though!
A Word About Shipping
There has been a bit of drama in the board game Kickstarter space recently due to increases in shipping costs. I wanted to make sure Outrun the Bear had no part in that, so you might have noticed some higher prices for places like Canada. I would love to bring these prices down, but for now they are the lowest quotes that I can guarantee.
Well that’s all for this update. Updates will be coming out weekly while the Kickstarter is on going and return to monthly when the Kickstarter closes and we enter production.
Race you soon,
Sam Barmettler
